They will come….
And they did.
Of course, I’m talking about Saturday’s 8/28 Rally on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial. I am reminded of another one of my favorite movies, “Field of Dreams”. In this, Kevin Costner plays a man who is about to lose the farm! Literally, he is. And he keeps hearing voices that say, “If you build it, they will come.” But he’s not sure. He’s not sure what it means except that everybody who is anybody will tell somebody he’s out of his mind. Crazy. Just plain stupid. And they do. Especially his in-laws.
Bring that to today. How many people discounted the rally? “Oh it’s that hateful Glenn Beck and the handful of listeners and viewers he has.” Plenty. News organizations saying “10s of thousands”. High estimates from our trusty mainstream media have been 86,000 to over 500,000 (fox). We couldn’t move. If you did, you stepped on toes. Well, of course, you didn’t step on the toes of those sitting on top of the port a johns or in the trees.
It was a sight to see.
It was a sight to see.
(You take one look at the following pic and just try to tell me the
mainstream media isn't bias. )

Glenn remarked near the end that someone asked him, “What if nobody comes?” His reply was if it is meant to be, they will come. They will be in the place they are called to be. Echo: “if you build it, they will come..”
I could go on and on. But I think I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves. We are at the crossroads. Here are some paths we can take from 8/28 on:
1. Go 180 degrees and get back to basics. Get on our knees and pray. Take our country back. Declare these grounds (America) sacred and live our lives that way.
2. Stay the current course and go bankrupt – morally, spiritually, monetarily, etc. 95% there. Still not too late to turn around.
3. Sit down and just shut up. Do nothing. Is this you? Because if it is, get out of my way. I'm on a mission.
So what’s it going to be? Which path do you choose today?
Are you going to trust your instincts like Kevin Costner did? Like Glenn did? Like our Founding Fathers and many more did? I hope so.
Hey I’ve got an idea. Let's go to Office Max, Staples, Walmart, etc, and pick up some packing boxes and send them to our representatives in Washington. With a little note says, “Happy packing. C’ya when you get home.”
And in fine print write (like Bob Etheridge did): "Solicited and paid for by tax payer dollars."

In the meantime, enjoy the pics!
Have a great week.

I'm so glad that people DID stand up to be counted. Now, let's get everyone to the polls in November. Remember, your vote is not only a right, it's your DUTY!
Mary
Sheila;
Many of us here in Lee County must live vicariously through you and Dean in your travels to Tea Party rallies and events such as 8/28. Keep up the good work and keep us posted on how well these patriotic movements are doing. We enjoy hearing a direct report rather than the spin we may or may not get from the drive-by media.
Thanks!
