Obama Offered Former Pastor $150,000 To Stay Quiet During 2008 Campaign

The New York Post released an excerpt from Edward Klein’s unauthorized biography of Barack Obama titled, “The Amateur.” The excerpt details the lengths Obama went to in attempts to silence his former pastor. Jeremiah Wright.

Wright is quoted as saying that Obama indirectly offered him “One hundred and fifty thousand dollars,” to stay quiet and “not to preach at all until the November presidential election.”

Wright reportedly received an email from “one of Barack’s closest friends” offering money to stay quiet through another member of the church.

Wright and Obama eventually met. This is part of the excerpt from Klein on the New York Post’s website.
