Lee Co Teachers..Take note of this!

All we hear out of  the Heins Building, LEED, Governor Perdue's office, NC and Washington Democrats is that more and more money needs to go into the classroom.  And we watch all over this nation as unions literally have spent millions of dollars to destroy individuals, like Scott Walker in Wisconsin, and will definitely attempt to say Mitt Romney wants our teachers dead or something like that.  I mean one of the bloggers in town tried to say those of us who want accountability from our local Board of Education and Superintendent (and no sales tax increases) must want our kids to go back to the chalkboard days!  Ludicrous!

More money in the classroom?  How about more money for our teachers and less for useless programs?  Their money is stolen via having to support teacher unions and too much cash overall is being spent on programs that have nothing to do with getting a kid to graduation.  And our Super axes TAs in a heartbeat if he doesn't get what he wants.  Just like that idiot Scranton, PA mayor who made everyone at minimum wage.  I bet neither one of them would take a pay cut.  No,  BOE member Lynn Smith is reportedly(work on the street) trying to negotiate a raise for Moss!

And you bet'cha  I'd love to see Reading, Writing and Arithmetic the main focus of a school day and not "Johnny must learn Mandarin" via Rosetta Stone.  That's nice.  But it isn't necessary.  Just like all those Pre-K programs.  How many buildings are under-utilized in Lee Co by the school system?  And what about that annual meeting of the minds here in Lee County that try to figure out what to do with the poor.  How about making it friendly to do business here, you know it alls?  Jobs cure alot of society's ills. I guess next we will see boxes line up on Steele Street so they all can pretend they are homeless in order to grasp the pain.  Liberal-think at its best.

So ask yourself, teachers,  do you agree that your union leaders below really care about you?  After reading this article below, can you honestly say "Yes"?

I suggest before you believe LEED or Bill Tatum's attempt to slice and dice Mike Stone on education, or scramble in fear because our esteemed Superintendent cries that teachers and TAs will be the first ones on the chopping block if there are  budget shortfalls, go confront them or send someone you trust since we suspect you could be targeted for speaking out.  All over this nation you see instances of Teachers speaking out for what's right and getting in trouble.  I bet they won't have an answer. Maybe the Herald can do a "Man on the Street" and ask the same question: "Is this fair?"
Average teacher makes $44G while their top union bosses pull in nearly $500G
Teachers across the country face pay freezes and possible layoffs, but the heads of the two biggest teachers unions saw their pay jump 20 percent last year, to nearly half a million dollars apiece.
American Federation of Teachers President Randi Weingarten's pay jumped to $407,323 last year, while her counterpart at the National Education Association, Dennis Van Roekel, got a raise to $362,644. Factor in stipends and other paid expenses and Weingarten took in $493,859 and Van Roekel $460,060 for 2011.

“Are teachers or anyone in the private sector experiencing those increases in times of financial hardship?"
- Gary Beckner, Association of American Educators

The big salaries drew jeers from many educators and their advocates in the U.S., where the average nationwide salary for teachers is a scant $44,000 a year. By contrast, nearly 600 staffers at the NEA and AFT are raking in six-figure salaries, according to Association of American Educators Executive Director Gary Beckner.

“In terms of salaries, union executives rake in nearly 10 times the average household income and far more than any teacher," Beckner told FoxNews.com. “Are teachers or anyone in the private sector experiencing those increases in times of financial hardship?"
