So the Economy is Good?

“Power is in tearing human minds to pieces and putting them together again in new shapes of your own choosing.”
George Orwell, 1984

The Economy is NOT good.  It's just not.  Last week job numbers came out.  And unless you were listening to the truth detector, Rush Limbaugh, all you heard was 157,000 new jobs created!  Are you scratching your head?  How can we add jobs and the unemployment rate creep back up to 7.9% from 7.7%?   The other fact not mentioned unless you heard Rush was the loss of over 169,000 jobs.  That explains it!

Real truth be known...8.5 million less are working now than when Obama took office.  And I bet that figure doesn't even come close to how many have REALLY given up.

Anyway, Yahoo News! had an article Sunday morning on a few of the major retailers that are planning on closing stores this year.  We're not talking about one or two here and there.  It's hundreds of stores closing.  People just don't have a good outlook on the economy right now.  Some are barely putting food on the table.

Here is the list:

1.  Best Buy
2.  Sears Holding Corp - Kmart/Sears
3.  JC Penney
4.  Office Depot
5.  Barnes and Noble
6.  GameStop
7.  Office Max
8.  Radio Shack

Maybe it's time to read George Orwell's "1984" again.  I get an scary feeling when I see the Obama labor department deliberately being deceptive to the citizens.   Heck, I get a scary feeling when anyone in an elected position, no matter which side they are on, does.
