Is There Ever Enough Money for Schools?
Nope. Never.
Nada.
Perdue has announced she will veto the state budget. According to a WRAL article:
"Perdue said, however, that the budget doesn't include enough money for schools, and Republican legislative leaders have repeatedly rebuffed her efforts to negotiate a compromise."
There's never enough money. They got the lottery funds. Thanks to Dumpling, she raided them. They get funds from courts, etc, on top of local funding, state funding, and federal funding. We have More at Four, Head Start, Pre-K, Title 1, yada yada yada.
And on the local front, I swear they keep nit picking the BOC for this paving project or that paving project. This petty need and that petty need. And then our Board of Education hires a lawyer, highly respected Raleigh law firm (can't Jimmy Love handle it??) - anyway they spend YOUR tax dollars to sue about a virtual charter school. Reason? So afraid funds will be diverted to something that works!
When our weebly educators realize that our schools cannot be a ONE STOP shop and when the KIDS matter more than grabbing our tax dollars, you'll see positive changes in the education system. Until then, send Moss and company a head of cheese to go with that whine.
On top of all of this, Perdue is vetoing a budget that gives state employees a raise! She's been yelling about raises for quite some time. So what gives, Missy? You either want state employees to have more cash or you don't!
And to boot she's salivating over "over collections".
“I am committed to ensuring that a portion of this revenue source, along with other funds, be dedicated to schools, jobs, probation and parole officers and other urgent needs," Perdue said. "I just spoke to Speaker Tillis and President Pro Tem Berger and asked them to work with me in a bi-partisan way to reach an agreement that will allow an amended budget to become law by July 1.”
What? Why can't anything over what is needed be sent back to you and me? Over collected = over taxed. It's our money anyway. Couldn't you use an extra dime or two?
Our lame duck Governor thinks she really is something else - kinda believes she can command a few things. Wonder how Walter will spin away the veto of increasing state employees' pay? Does he agree? Oh my. Let the ads begin.

President Obama says the health care law makes coverage more affordable, but the insurance industry reacted to the Supreme Court decision by saying that the ruling will actually end up raising rates even more than they have climbed since the law was enacted.
America’s Health Insurance Plans, the industry’s lobby group, issued a statement supporting expanding health care coverage to millions of Americans, but it said, “major provisions, such as the premium tax, will have unintended consequences of raising costs and disrupting coverage unless they are addressed.”
The group's CEO, Karen Ignagni, told Fox News that because of the increased costs, “It's time for people to roll up their sleeves and look very carefully at those provisions.”
The Kaiser Family Foundation, a nonprofit research group, has said that the average family insurance premium in 2011 topped $15,000 -- a 9 percent increase from the year before, while premiums had climbed just 3 percent a year before the law went into effect.
AETNA, the nation's fourth largest insurer, says its polices increased from 1 to 2 percent.

The House of Representatives voted to place Attorney General Eric Holder in contempt of Congress for refusing to turn over hundreds of documents related to the Operation Fast & Furious scandal.
A total of 239 Republicans voted in favor of the resolution with 17 Democrats joining them. The final tally was 255 in favor and 67 against. Two Republicans voted nay and one Democrat voted present. More than one hundred Democrats walked off the floor in protest.
The contempt vote is a historic setback for an administration that claimed it would bring “transparency” to the White House. Instead, Attorney General Holder refused to release documents that would potentially implicate himself and the president in wrongdoing.
Operation Fast and Furious is plausibly the most serious scandal in American political history. On the Obama administration’s watch, thousands of guns were run to Mexican drug cartels and only several hundred guns were traced. The operation resulted in hundreds of Mexican civilian deaths and that of border patrol agent Brian Terry.
While several Democrats grandstanded and decried the contempt vote as election year politics, the vote was an attempt to get accountability from a White House that has stonewalled and refused to come clean with the American people. The Congressional Black Caucus even suggested the resolution against Eric Holder was racially motivated and publicized that they would walk out of the vote.

Most of us know this isn't what the Founding Fathers had in mind for government's responsibility. Over the years we, the silent majority, have gotten up everyday, gone to work, fed our families, found healthcare on our own, looked after our neighbors and kids, etc, etc, etc. We didn't need government.
Anyone who has studied Economics, knows what happens to prices of goods and services when there is limited competition and limited supply. Prices naturally go up. Prices ARE going to increase under ObamaCare. You simply can't add everybody in America to this thing and think we will all be taken care of. It's not free. So who is going to pay? Why have Obamacare if all of us are healthy? Honestly, I thought it was being implemented because of the sick. Who is going to pay for government healthcare? We have almost 50% of Americans who don't even pay taxes now. So that leaves the other 50% to pay. Which side are you on? Why do I even bring up taxes? How else are they going to force you to pay? They will tax you. They say it isn't a tax, though. ?????
I am an American. Under Obamacare, because I am an American, I have to be in Obamacare. And some beaurocrat will tell me if I am worthy of living or dying. That is in direct opposition of the Constitution. And the liberty and freedom we have been blessed with for HUNDREDS of years. So because I breathe air in the USA, it is now a requirement by Congress that I purchase a good or service? No. I don't think so.
And the IRS is going to make it hell for us. They are going to take our homes, cars, bank accounts, etc, if we don't participate. Or worse, we will be sent to jail. Even Nancy has said that. According to reports, the Obama Admin has already sent $500 million to the IRS. Wait that's half of what they, Pelosi, Reid, and cronies, told us ObamaCare was going to cost anyway. Please don't be so stupid as to believe this is going to work.

The top Democrat in charge of getting other Democrats elected to the House is urging his party's candidates to steer clear of the national convention later this year.
The piece of advice from Rep. Steve Israel, D-N.Y., chairman of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, came during the Reuters Washington Summit Tuesday.
"If they want to win an election, they need to be in their districts," Israel said of Democratic congressional candidates, according to Reuters
.
The comment follows decisions by several vulnerable Democrats to skip this year's national convention -- to be held in early September in Charlotte, N.C.
"A trip to Charlotte may be interesting, but why leave your districts?" Israel reportedly said. He claimed President Obama's approval ratings had little to do with the guidance -- Rep. Chris Van Hollen, D-Md., former head of the DCCC, offered similar advice to candidates in 2008.
But Democrats have been ruling out attendance this year at a rather steady clip.

Dems Break Rank...Holder Contempt Vote On!
At least three Democrats have joined the ranks of Republicans planning to vote to hold Attorney General Eric Holder in contempt over his refusal to turn over Operation Fast and Furious documents.
The Democrats who have taken that stance so far are all conservative-leaning lawmakers facing perilous political circumstances in their home districts. Republican Rep. Darrell Issa, who is leading the charge on contempt, predicted to Fox News that up to 31 Democrats could be considering voting against Holder -- in reference to a letter signed by 31 Democrats last year expressing concern about Fast and Furious.
The latest Democrats to announce an anti-Holder stance are Reps. Nick Rahall, D-W.Va., and John Barrow, D-Ga.
"While Republicans and Democrats argue over the scope of the people's right to know what happened, the Attorney General has decided to withhold relevant documents," Barrow said in a statement. "The only way to get to the bottom of what happened is for the Department of Justice to turn over the remaining documents, so that we can work together to ensure this tragedy never happens again."

Another Sad Day In America
As I told my husband, you think they were bused in during Obama's election, you ain't seen nothing yet. Trailways will be over heated for busing the blacks to vote in this upcoming election. I thank the Lord he gave me brains to think for myself and not let a human being rule my life. Should I feel sorry for the citizens of the US who keep letting someone lead them by a string, not at all. We all have the choice to make the right decision. That comes from being educated on events in the world and not relying on someone else to do it for us. So those of you who love wollering in poverty, wollering with the dogs, getting those food stamps (selling them on the side), getting that free cell phone, go right ahead. I choose to make my own decisions and not vote crooks back into office.

Dear Chet ...A LEED BRAT from the PAC
If you've followed this blog, you know I have bones to pick with the elitists in this county. The LEED BRAT PAC (aka Donor list to the right - another one coming soon) deliberately put out vitriol disgusting ads in the Sanford Herald during the primary. Now, I have to come to the conclusion that the Herald must have made lots of dough. They sure are trying to discredit a few of us on the right. Hope they all sleep well!
Anyway, LEED is back with more dough and more disgusting attempts to keep Lee County in the hands of good old boys. In the hands of those that will buy elections. I sometimes think they've bought two people on the Board of Elections. I guess that gave them a little backbone. Well below is a letter to Chet Mann from me. A blogger not afraid to take any of them to task. And below that you'll find his recent email. Have fun. Enjoy knowing that the LEED BRAT PAC wants unemployment to remain high, your taxes to remain high, your suffering to stay, empty store fronts, and your kids to go to public schools while ....well just read.

I suppose your letter is bragging on Tamara Brogan? Well Ms. Brogan has been told her feet would be put to the fire. If she doesn't do as she campaigned, people will know. That means she won't be eating out of your hands if she is honorable and does what she says. Time will tell!

The move comes as party planners are grappling with a fundraising deficit of roughly $27 million, according to two people familiar with the matter who requested anonymity to discuss internal party politics. With a party ban on direct contributions from corporations, the host committee has raised less than $10 million, well short of its $36.6 million goal, said one of the people.

With all of this in mind, why is the Obama campaign requiring identification for entry into official campaign events?
President Barack Obama’s presidential campaign checked the identification of the supporters attending Obama’s “framing” event at Cuyahoga Community College today.
The 1,500 supporters in attendance picked up tickets at campaign offices in Northeast Ohio beginning on Monday, though tickets to the event made no mention of an ID requirement.
Jessica Kershaw, the Obama campaign’s Ohio Press Secretary, confirmed in a statement to BuzzFeed that the campaign checked every supporter’s identification at the door.
“We checked every ID at the door to make sure it matched with the name on the ticket that supporters filled out,” she said. “We did this for every person who came in.”

Remember one month ago, (http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Government/2012/05/20/NC-teacher-screams-student-Obama) when a high-school junior in the Rowan-Salisbury school district in North Carolina videotaped his teacher yelling at another student that he was being disrespectful for criticizing Barack Obama and that his behavior was a criminal offense?
The young man who did the videotaping had a hellish time finishing the school year. In an interview with Breitbart News, the young man’s sister described the ensuing weeks after the videotape. She said that some of the other students have said they are out to get the young man; the teacher, Tanya Dixon-Neely, has relatives who are students in the school. The young man’s family, fearing for his safety, requested for the young man to finish the last three weeks of school at home, but the school refused. Instead, the school offered for the young man to come to school after the other students were already in class, be secluded from other students during the school day and leave before school ended.
According to the videotaper’s sister, not only did the school authorities reject the appeal for home-schooling, they gave him a suspension on his school record for videotaping in the classroom -- the first suspension ever issued for such an action, despite the fact that other students have also videotaped on school grounds.
The young man’s sister stated that assistant principal Antoine Brisbon said to her brother, “That was a very stupid thing you did. You have damaged the school. Our staff is taking a beating because our phones are nonstop. This is all over the country.” She also said that after the video was released, Tanya Dixon-Neely started making indirect remarks at the young man accusing him of stabbing her in the back.

Just in, Homeland Security says "Screw You" to Arizona. We don't care if your citizens die. It's about us and our voters. I mean come on people. Do you believe this stuff? This Administration is far beyond corrupt. They hate us. They hate law abiding people. They hate that fact that Arizona is trying to protect their citizens. They want power and will stop at absolutely nothing to get it.
I can't wait for November. Time for a revolt. Time for a revolt locally, statewide and nationally. I don't know about you but when PBO took the oath it didn't say "United States Less Arizona". But you wouldn't know it.

Administration officials, speaking on condition they not be named, told reporters they expect to see an increase in the number of calls they get from Arizona police — but that won’t change President Obama’s decision to limit who the government actually tries to detain and deport.
“We will not be issuing detainers on individuals unless they clearly meet our defined priorities,” one official said in a telephone briefing.
The official said despite the increased number of calls, which presumably means more illegal immigrants being reported, the Homeland Security Department government is unlikely to detain a significantly higher number of people, and won’t be boosting personnel to handle the new calls.
“We do not plan on putting additional staff on the ground in Arizona,” the official said.
