Watchdog Training - Worth Your Time!

Wow lets get rid of the scoundrels!  Yep let's rid the media too of those who won't report the truth.  And how about those who think they are suppose to create the news instead of reporting it?  Yep them too.  Can we call on our local media to stop suppressing the real stories and report them?  I have yet to see a story in The Herald on PBO's honesty on "You didn't build that!"  But if you have...leave the link in the comment section below please.

Here's some interesting facts from this weekend's Watchdog Training:

NCCU, Durham, NC...has 2400 people assigned to one building.  No one lives there.
Who wants to bet they all will be voting?

Learned alot at the "Investigative Reporting" session with Mr. Trent Siebert.  Man, I had no clue about all the information available.  But curious minds want to know stuff when presented with good resources.

Did you know North Carolina has counties/companies who have failed to report what they did with American Recovery Act funds.  Wait, wasn't Bobby Etheridge in charge of federal stimulus funds, aka, American Recovery Act?  Yep.  Find the story here:  http://www.wral.com/news/local/politics/story/9080307/

Now, just wait till you find out who got the funds in Lee County!

HINT:  Lee County Schools have received  $9,721,465 in American Recovery Act funds!

Leadership

We can't drive our SUVs and eat as much as we want and keep our homes on 72 degrees at all times... and then just expect that other countries are going to say OK. That's not leadership. That's not going to happen. -PBO

Every now and then I like to go look up some quotes on various topics and see what's out there. This one is a leadership quote from BrainyQuote.com. (linked below) And it makes me wonder just what our President thinks a leader is. So time for a bit of digging in the good ol big green sleeping pill. (For those of you not familiar with Marine jargon, it's the Marine Corps Handbook that is a staple of a Marine's training.)

There are 11 leadership principles outlined and they are as follows:

Exactly! From Foxnews.com....

Intentionally Skewing the Polls

The fun thing about taking Statistics is it really hits home that anyone, anywhere can make stats whatever they want.  They can word questions a certain way, tailor the answers so there's no clear cut alternatives, and even heavily weight the participants. Ok most people should know this anyway.

But in the media you would think they would have a bit more discernment.  Maybe a bit more care?  Here's NBC admitting they skewed their latest poll which showed Obama leading Romney by 6%.  Why?  They over sampled Democrats.  Naturally the poll would lean to President Obama.  The results were aired when every other polling data had them at a dead heat or Romney leading.   They still stand by their words that Romney is in trouble.

Enjoy the madness!

Boston Mayor Having Second Thoughts!

Every time I use to hear this Dave Loggins song, I had to stop and sing along:

"Please come to Boston for the spring time.
I'm stayin' here with some friends
And they've got lots of room.
You can sell your paintings on the sidewalk
By a cafe where I hope to be workin' soon.
Please come to Boston.
She said, "No.
Would you come home to me?"

It made me long to go see Fenway Park and other places I had heard about all my life.  My mama told me about the time she lived and worked at a diner by Fenway.   Mama was "Fannie Mae" to alot of the patrons.  One story I remember all too well is how jealous one of her friends was of her.  And on the way home, a bunch of girls dumped mud all over her.  Boy was her grandma mad! Oh yes..I always wanted to visit Boston.

Well forget that now! That mayor is an idiot.   Just the other day he stated there was no way Chick-Fil-A would open up a restaurant there.  How dare a private company stand by Christian beliefs and close on Sundays.  That's just not 2012 like!

Well lordy be (as Mama would say)..he's done changed his mind.  Or else all of us who told him we wouldn't visit Boston did.  I tend to think the latter.  Those of you who have stood up to these bullies picking winners and losers...THANK YOU!

Never Let a Crisis ...

Go to waste!  Yep the Prez is now calling for more gun control measures.  How ironic coming from the very individual protecting an Attorney General who failed at gun control with his own department!   Barack...listen up...somebody died with "Fast and Furious".  Why didn't you speak up about that?

Obama calls for measures against gun violence

Faced with a clamor in his party for stricter gun control in the wake of the Colorado movie-theater massacre, President Obama said Wednesday night he would “leave no stone unturned” in seeking new measures to reduce violence nationwide, including more restrictive background checks on gun purchases.

“A lot of gun owners would agree that AK-47s belong in the hands of soldiers, not in the hands of criminals,” Mr. Obama said at the annual National Urban League convention in New Orleans. “They belong on the battlefield of war, not on the streets of our cities.”

The president blamed “politics and lobbying” for defeating gun-control measures when outcries arise after mass shootings in the U.S. And he said the nation’s attention should not just be focused on mass shootings, such as the one on Friday in Aurora, Colo., but on the daily shooting deaths of youths from gun violence in major cities.

“Every day, the number of young people we lose to violence is about the same as the number of people we lost in that movie theater,” Mr. Obama said. “For every Columbine or Virginia Tech, there are dozens gunned down on the streets of Chicago or Atlanta, here in New Orleans. Violence plagues the biggest cities, but it also plagues the smallest towns.” (Read more:  http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2012/jul/25/obama-calls-measures-against-gun-violence/)

Winner and Losers, Chicago Decides

After a few choice words spoken by a CEO of a popular fast-food chain, Chicago has put it's foot down on who is allowed to do business in their city.

Joe Moreno is blocking an local business man from opening a restaurant by denying the zoning for a new Chick-fil-a. This is due to the CEO's beliefs in a traditional marriage. Moreno used an argument initially posed by Mayor Rahm Emanuel to justify the denial.

“Chick-fil-a’s values are not Chicago values. They’re not respectful
of our residents, our neighbors and our family members. And if
you’re gonna be part of the Chicago community, you should reflect
               Chicago values,”

Cocaine and Voter Fraud?

Nope.  Not in America.  Say it ain't so!  Drug dealers caught trafficking cocaine and votes! Apparently both sides liked the proceeds.

Drug money funds voter fraud in Kentucky

By Eric Shawn, Published July 25, 2012, FoxNews.com

Voter fraud has a shocking new meaning in eastern Kentucky.

That is where in some cases, major cocaine and marijuana dealers admitted to buying votes to steal elections, and the result is the corruption of American democracy. The government continues to mete out justice in the scandal, as two people convicted in April in a vote-buying case face sentencing this week, and another public official pleaded guilty Tuesday to conspiracy.

"We believe that drug money did buy votes," Kerry B. Harvey, U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of Kentucky, said of a separate vote-buying case.

He described a stunning vote-buying scheme that includes "very extensive, organized criminal activity, involving hundreds of thousands of dollars, and in many cases that involves drug money."

Harvey has led a recent string of federal prosecutions exposing the widespread and accepted practice of vote buying in eastern Kentucky. The soft-spoken federal prosecutor, along with his team and state authorities, are waging a battle against what he characterizes as a vote-buying culture embedded in many of the communities for generations.

He says the problem is rooted in economic woes, which is why votes are routinely for sale. In that part of the state, jobs are scarce and poverty is high. Controlling local government means controlling jobs.
“These folks go out and hijack the local elections for their own purposes and then they use those jobs to enrich themselves and their confederates. It really is a terrible problem and it has to be stopped,” Harvey explains.

In Clay County, according to court testimony, some of the funds to purchase votes came from massive cocaine and marijuana drug trafficking operations.
(...)

Continuing further down the article we see this:

"When it comes to vote buying, it’s an everyday thing. ... It’s pretty much like jaywalking," admits former Breathitt County magistrate candidate Michael Salyers, who is now serving time in jail for buying votes in his 2010 race. While the funds in his case did not involve drug money, he describes how he was given $500 and ended up buying about 10 votes. He would meet people seeking to sell their votes in the back room of a local store."

Goodbye Kermit!

It wasn't that long ago when kids shows and comic books were just that:  KID SHOWS and COMIC BOOKS!  They worried about teaching 1-2-3, A-B-C, and  Red, Green, Yellow.  They sang "Mary Has a Little Lamb", "Kumbaya", and "Ring around the Rosies".  And we worried if Batman was going to survive another episode of  Gotham's bad guys trying to kill him.  Not these days.  Now the Green Lantern is gay and even Sesame Street has introduced the "alternative lifestyle".  It's more important to learn about  Heather and her two mommies than if Big Bird can fly or what was up with Oscar the Grouch.  BTW - Oscar the Grouch was my favorite character.  LOL!

So the  Muppets  have been thrown into the fray.  The  Ms.Henson is severing ties with Chick-Fil-A and won't allow Kermit to have chicken.  All because the CFA's President standing by his values.  Ok!  Wonder how frog legs taste?  I bet with the same breading on their chicken nuggets, Chick can make them very tasty!

And they could add a  new menu item:  Barbecued Ms. Piggy...

Cahnman's Musings: 2016 Obama's America

Have you heard of the new movie:  "2016 Obama's America"?  You should.  Obama wants us to live like his brother does - poor and desolate.  While he and his elitist friends live what my mama would say is "High on the hog"!  Can you believe his own brother has to live that way?  Where's the compassion?  Share your wealth PBO and Michelle!

Below you'll find a preview and a review by another RightOnline blogger, Adam Cahn.  Watch the trailer.  I encourage you to finish reading the post by following the link at the bottom.  Adam has quite a few interesting topics that are well worth your time.

MOVIE REVIEW: 2016 -- Obama's America

Sunday, I attended a private screening of 2016: Obama's America.  It will answer most of your unresolved questions about Barack Obama in under two hours.  The film, based on the 2010 bestseller The Roots of Obama's Rage, by Dinesh D'Souza traces Barack Obama's formative years.  D'Souza demonstrates, convincingly, that third-world anticolonialism plays a MAJOR role in Barack Obama's thinking.  This film was fantastic and it needs your support.

Dinesh D'Souza grew up in India in the 1960's, where he was exposed to the same anti-colonial thinking he detects in Barack Obama.  Anti-colonialism is a noxious for of leftism, which asserts wealthy people (and nations) became that way by stealing raw materials from the third world.  Anti-colonialism was promoted heavily by the Soviet Union and remains trendy on college campuses today.  Anti-colonialism is also the core of the liberation theology that was preached by Jeremiah Wright.  Barack Obama wants to enrich formerly colonized countries at the expense of those he deems colonizers; it's not about lifting up the poor, it's about tearing down the rich.

Who's Scared of What Now?

Nanny Bloomberg has once again show how his democratic mind is FAR ahead of his mouth, oh and not just once, but twice, same issue different statements same day.

Slip one, I don't know why cops don't go on strike until harsher gun control is passed. I may not be the smartest man in the room, but I can tell you why that's a horrible idea. I'm not going to even insult my readers by saying why that is a bad idea, you guys know what would happen if the police were to go on strike.

Slip two, same day mind you, Well I didn't mean they should literally go on strike. (Than why did you suggest it idiot?) In fact in New York it is against the law for them to go on strike. (So now you are encouraging your police force to become criminals, we are on a roll here.)

So if I were in Nanny B's shoes I'd think about just stopping at this point. Apologize for my

When Seconds Matter

In the past few days I have noticed an issue popping up that is near and dear to my heart... gun laws. Nanny Bloomberg has pressed the presidential candidates for their stances on how to introduce new laws that limit guns in the population. However Nanny B. failed to mention the gun laws that Aurora CO already had in place. While reading the article I thought to myself, why in the world would a city allow it's citizens to carry a firearm if it is illegal for most citizens to discharge their firearm away from the gun range?

I have actively shot for qualification as well as recreation for about a decade now and I'll admit that my load time is still not anywhere near fast enough to load, chamber, aim and

Paterno Statue Gone...

The Godfather of Football's legacy is dead.  Joe Paterno's statue is gone.  Some would argue death was justice for the cover-up he participated in.   And no one really could argue back.  What's worse:  the crime or the cover-up?  I don't know how you could separate them.  Especially in this case.  Ok, any case!  To know this atrocity is going on and simply do nothing about it?  How horrible of a human being was "Joe"?

Statue of famed Penn St. coach Paterno taken down

The famed statue of Joe Paterno was taken down from outside the Penn State football stadium Sunday, eliminating a key piece of the iconography surrounding the once-sainted football coach accused of burying child sex abuse allegations against a retired assistant.
Workers lifted the 7-foot-tall statue off its base and used a forklift to move it into Beaver Stadium as the 100 to 150 students watching chanted, "We are Penn State."
