An Excellent Christmas Gift!

Would you like a trip back in time?  A good cry and a great recipe to enjoy at the end of the book?

Then I encourage you to read this memoir by my father-in-law Jasper Barber.  It tells of his boyhood adventures in Islands and the way life use to be.  Remember?  When government wasn't the end all to all our problems and families found a way to survive?

Yeah, those days.

The recipe at the end is a favorite of mine to cook on cold, winter evenings.  But you'll have to read the book to find out what it is.

It can be purchased by contacting the editor at
qgirl232@yahoo.com for info, or through  Amazon.com

Back cover says:
"Through stories and anecdotes, Jay Barber takes the reading into the world he once knew, a world the present generation can hardly believe existed only a few decades ago.

Barber left that world at the age of 18 seeking to find a better one, but the memories of his youth and that place stuck to him like the waterline on the trees in the Islands swamps.

He shares his childhood in Memories of the Islands whle recording a history of the Barber familoy in Martin County, North Carolina, and their struggles of the Great Depression, the flood of 1940, and a number of family tragedies...."

I promise, you won't be disappointed.
