ALERT: The Church Takes Action!

I bet the Obama Administration didn't expect this:

Catholic organizations across the country file suit against contraception mandate

Some of the most influential Catholic institutions in the country filed suit against the Obama administration Monday over the so-called contraception mandate, in one of the biggest coordinated legal challenges to the rule to date.

Claiming their "fundamental rights hang in the balance," a total of 43 plaintiffs filed a dozen separate federal lawsuits challenging the constitutionality of the requirement. Among the organizations filing were the University of Notre Dame, the Archdiocese of New York and The Catholic University of America.

The groups are objecting to the requirement from the federal health care overhaul that employers provide access to contraceptive care. The Obama administration several months ago softened its position on the mandate, but some religious organizations complained the administration did not go far enough to ensure the rule would not compel them to violate their religious beliefs.

A statement from the University of Notre Dame said the requirement would still call on religious-affiliated groups to "facilitate" coverage "for services that violate the teachings of the Catholic Church."

"The federal mandate requires Notre Dame and similar religious organizations to provide in their insurance plans abortion-inducing drugs, contraceptives and sterilization procedures, which are contrary to Catholic teaching," the statement said.

Rev. John Jenkins, the president of Notre Dame, said in a message to the campus that the filing "is about the freedom of a religious organization to live its mission, and its significance goes well beyond any debate about contraceptives."

Oh so I guess this is one of those times you guys don't like "separation of church and state"?

My my...how hypocritical can we be?

Actually Randall you are mistaken on your point. It is common knowledge that the first persons who promoted a round earth revolving the sun were religious teachers. It is liberal propaganda that says otherwise. Do the research. You will find many persons of faith on record early BCE. Discussing a round earth that was not the center of the universe.

Another lie that our public education system has promoted is columbus crew thought they would fall off the earth. Again because of his church training he knew full well the earth was not flat.

Good tactic you liberals use though. Trying to make us people of faith dumb, flat earthers prone to fairy tales.

Then why pray tell was Galileo found guilty of vehement heresy by the Catholic Church and placed under house arrest for the rest of his life in 1633? After all 1633 is quite awhile after 1492? The only fairy tale Mr Marks is that you think the Catholic Church is someway pro-science.

Actually Randall I disagree with catholic teachings in many areas. Soteriology being the most crucial.

Using your logic I can dismiss any profession. For instance It is widely held that George Washington's death was hastened by the constant blood letting of his physicians. A common practice of the time. Should I now fear seeking a doctors care?

Science once taught dinosaurs were cold blooded whose demise was by an ice age. Should I now dismiss all science?

Southern democrats were proponents of Jim Crow. Should I now consider democrats as all racist?

It doesnt take much searching to find aberrant beliefs in any profession. Making Christians seem like outdated , non thinking fools just because there were some in the ranks is flawed logic.

The bulk of early thinkers on round earth belief were indeed men of faith. A plethora of ancient manuscripts support this.

Simply put. One does not need compromise intellectual integrity to be a person of faith.

There are some people who lighten up a room WHEREVER they go. And some WHENEVER they go......Hint.
