No Need for Light Rail in NC...

So if the overzealous liberals come stating that too many cars on the road kills our planet, and they need money and more regulations to combat "global warming",  you will know they are lying.  I say that because what they wanted is already happening!  They wanted high fuel prices and reduced drilling to kill the America we knew growing up.  They got it!

Praise to His Highness - he has solved the problem!

Gridlock eases in many metro areas

"Traffic congestion dropped 30% last year from 2010 in the USA's 100 largest metropolitan areas, driven largely by higher gas prices and a spotty economic recovery, according to a new study by a Washington-state firm that tracks traffic flows.

That was the largest drop since the nation plunged into recession in December 2007.
Of the 100 most populous metro areas, 70 saw declines in traffic congestion while just 30 had increases, says Jim Bak, co-author of the 2011 U.S. Traffic Scorecard for Kirkland, Wash.-based INRIX.

That was a reversal of what happened in 2010, when 70 had increases in congestion and 30 had declines. Tampa had the biggest increase in congestion, and Minneapolis the biggest drop.
"We're experiencing a stop-and-go economy right now," Bak says. "The data indicate the country may be experiencing the jobless recovery economists warned of during the recession."

............Bak says the data show that the reduction in gridlock on the nation's roads stems from rising fuel prices; lackluster gains in employment and modest increases in highway capacity because of construction projects completed under the federal stimulus program....."

Mrs Barber,

Well I guess you will not be voting for "Irish" Pat McCrory. I mean he did push through a 200 million dollar light rail system in Charlotte and is a national advocate for improved public transportation.

By the way we need high speed rail to replace short airplane trips. America pioneered the use of railroads and it is a shame that we are falling this far behind in it's technology and implementation.

I know about the rail. It was there Long before Obama came to office. Alot of people in Charlotte don't like it.

What we need is drilling and lower taxes and lower gas prices (1.84 when Obama took office) and for the people to decide on what they want to use. I will only take public transportation when in big cities like DC and the Metro. Otherwise it's my car baby!!

Now that doc lost its straight Republican ticket!!

run for Mayor Randall!
