Revisiting the Declaration of Independence...

"All tyranny needs to gain a foothold is for people of good conscience to remain silent."  Thomas Jefferson

For the last few days, I have been contemplating what I thought the Founding Fathers would think about our imperialistic President.  And if we had the guts to write our own Declaration of Independence.  Look no further.  One of the RightOnline bloggers has posted an outstanding version.

The Declaration of Independence Revisited

by Sibyl West on July 3, 2010
This was originally published in 2010. So much more has happened since then.
After barely eighteen months of the Obama administration, a reading of the original founding document and its list of grievances against King George III sounds awfully familiar. To wit, I am presenting most of the Declaration of Indpendence here with only the slightest of alterations [like so]. The similarity to our current situation is chilling and only proves that human nature is what it is and that some things will never change, no matter how much we hope or how many affirmations we utter.
And let there be no mistake: the tyranny the founders rose up against is NOTHING compared to what is in the health care bill with which he violated our countrymen last December.
