Time to Speak My Peace...

At Fresh Brew we take pride in making the obscene the obvious.  And that doesn't just go for the left.  Goes for the right too.

For the past few days, there's been much much talk about the stupid comments by Todd Akin.  The media, of course, took it out of context (wow...just what they accused of us) and made Mr. Akin sound horrible.

Editor:  Anonymous brought up a good point.  Let's clarify:  Akin wasn't justifying rape.  But that's how the media is now portraying it.   They have  made Akin a poster child for the Dems to tar and feather.   Now I really don't think anyone believes there is "legitimate rape".  No one.  It's not!    But I absolutely agree the scrutiny and calls for stepping down  are justified. No matter how Mr. Akin meant it.   No good for the country if he stays...only for the liberals.

So..let's continue

First thing, candidates...THINK!  As one of my email buddies said..."Smile, Grin and shut the pie hole."

We ought to know by now the media's job is to just trip up the right and make us look like fools.  Thanks Todd for eating the bait.  Hate if for you bud, but please go.

He's lost massive support. The RNC says they won't back him.  Romney and Ryan, our President/VP  candidates, have asked him to step down.  And many many others.  Including me.  But what did this girl and others get?  Oh pretty much an accusation that we had no right to say such.

Excuse me..when this guy puts this election in jeapordy, it IS my business.  Every member of Congress legislates over me.  But all that being said...here's another "See We told you so."  Todd had this in the bag.  All he had to do was show up!

Now the latest polling comes out - not some biased one - Scott Rasmussen, one of the best:

New poll shows McCaskill ahead of Akin

Akin, McCaskill

Today, GOP-leaning Rasmussen Reports released a poll showing Democrat incumbent U.S. Sen. Claire McCaskill leading Republican U.S. Rep. Todd Akin by 10 points, 48 to 38 percent.  That is in stark contrast to a poll released on Monday night by Democratic-affiliated Public Policy Polling, which showed Akin with a one-point lead (44 to 43 percent).

The polls are the first since Akin, once the front-runner, made controversial remarks on Sunday saying women somehow can biologically ward off pregnancy after forced sex, setting off a national backlash and Republican Party demands for him to withdraw from the race.

Akin has cited the PPP Poll and his own internal polling which shows him competitive with McCaskill as reasons for him to stay in the race.

Todd, this NC girl says get out now.  Put your country FIRST.
