Lucky Charms for Obama

It's a Magically Delicious Unemployment Rate!

Oh my the President has made the mark.  After 43 months of unemployment being over 8%, it's magically fell to 7.8%.  Almost overnight.  Hoorah!  Hooray! Hockey sticks!  Just in time for the election...Wow.

People please don't believe the failing administration is telling the truth.  The failing administration, yea the one that refused security in Libya, is the same one telling you the unemployment rate has dropped...magically dropped. Stats can be manipulated any way we want them to be.   Hint:  They don't like for you to know that.  I do though.  I took stat class and I PASSED!

If you don't understand the numbers, and most don't, you are going to be fooled again.  I bet MSNBC is salivating.  No tingling.  Wolf Blitzer at CNN will probably repeat this "good news" 95 times in his broadcast today.  Michelle can be proud again.  Ahhh BS!

The labor department  measureS unemployment by the number of people applying for benefits divided by labor force and via households/businesses it surveys.    Yes, they do surveys.  Do you think they go to Harlem and query?  Ha.  Dream on. The black youth unemployment rate has been as high as 50%.  Don't take my word.  Do your research.  This isn't by any means the real unemployment rate.

FYI:
The formula for calculating the unemployment rate (expressed as a percent) is as follows:
Unemployment Rate = (Unemployed Workers / Total Labor Force) * 100

But hey let me prove they do household surveys:  http://blogs.wsj.com/economics/2012/10/05/why-did-the-unemployment-rate-drop-9/

Let's look at this head on:   If your benefit runs out on Friday, next Monday when you are suppose to go online and do the little "I looked for a job" thing, but can't because your time is up, then your stat doesn't show.  Therefore, it is assumed you found a job.  Now Monday night when you need to feed the family...the labor department's lower unemployment rate didn't find itself putting a hamburger in your kid's mouth, did it?  Nope.

It's a dirty little secret.  We all know Bevy in Raleigh played with the numbers.  You think the big "O" didn't?  Remember how many days they told us a video caused Ambassador Stephens' death then had to admit they knew it was terrorism and were warned 12 times before it happened?  Just a saying....

But you have to delve deep, folks.  A 114,000 increase in jobs when 23 million plus are unemployed doesn't cure the problem.   Let's get real.  He was dismal in the debate.  He needed something to bring life back.

Here's a fairly good snapshot of what the numbers really are by IJ Review:

  • The number of unemployed persons (12.1 million) dropped by 456,000.
  • The number of persons unemployed (2.5 million) for less than 5 weeks declined by 302,000.
  • The number of long-term unemployed persons (jobless for 27 weeks or more) was little changed at 4.8 million.
  • The number of long-term unemployed persons accounted for 40.1 percent of the unemployed.
  • Total employment rose by 873,000 in September.
  • The Labor Force Participation rate was little changed at 63.6 percent.
  • The number of persons employed part-time for economic reasons rose from 8.0 million in August to 8.6 million in September.
If the number of unemployed dropped by 456,000, but only 114,000 jobs were added, that means that 342,000 people left the workforce in some fashion. Couple that with the fact that the number of part-time workers saw an increase of 582,000 while manufacturing unemployment saw a decrease of 16,000 jobs and this drop in unemployment rate begins to looks less and less optimistic, and more like a misleading mathematical equation.

See we told you so.  Made for TV. Made for Obama.  And here you go...

Read this and lordy be you'll see it says "might affect undecideds".. That's the tell tale sign...those precious undecideds.   The only ones who ever matter.  Ughhh.

US jobless rate falls to 7.8 pct., 44-month low

US unemployment rate falls to 7.8 pct. in September, lowest since Jan. 2009; hiring increases

WASHINGTON (AP) -- The U.S. unemployment rate fell to 7.8 percent last month, dropping below 8 percent for the first time in nearly four years. The rate declined because more people found work, a trend that could have an impact on undecided voters in the final month before the presidential election.

The Labor Department said Friday that employers added 114,000 jobs in September. The economy also created 86,000 more jobs in July and August than first estimated. Wages rose in September and more people started looking for work.

[....] The decline could help Obama, who is coming off a disappointing debate performance against GOP challenger Mitt Romney.

Now go read this and find out some interesting facts that TheBlaze offers:

Many of the jobs reported are PART TIME...

October Surprise: Unemployment Drops to 7.8% — But Skepticism Abounds

".....Despite Friday’s numbers, however, the Associated Press notes that many of the jobs added last month were part time. The number of people with part-time jobs who wanted full-time work rose 7.5 percent to 8.6 million......"

It's bad out there. I am so thankful I have a job.  I work from home for a great company.  And my hubby will attest I work unbelievable hours  sometimes to 1 or 2 am.  Working from home is a privilege, not a right. I bust my butt so that no one ever questions what I do.
You know,  I can sit here and talk all day long on the facts.  And that facts are the unemployment rate dropping doesn't help any of our citizens who didn't find a job last month.  It doesn't help deter the pain, anxiety, the depression, the collection calls, the fear of losing one's home, etc, etc.  Know the facts people.  Help someone in your town who sees 7.8% and thinks.."What's wrong with me?  Why can't I get a job?"  Tell them truth about the rate and how it is derived.  And then help them pay the bills.  Sad to say but it may save a life.
