The Elitists aka Lee CO BOC Strike Again!

Do the Lee Co DEMOCRAT Commissioners do anything except try to make life miserable for our citizens? Some people in the historic district are handicapped.  But of course, it doesn't matter to the elitists.  This area also has a good deal of crime.  Just read the police reports.

From the Sanford Herald:

Lee commissioners amend parking, building standards

May. 05, 2015 @ 05:00 AM
Residents of the Rosemount-McIver Park Historic District who leave their cars on their front yards will have to find new parking spot after the Lee County Board of Commissioners on Monday unanimously approved three amendments to the county's Unified Development Ordinance.
"What it will do is create design standards for off-street parking," Lee County Zoning Administrator Althea Thompson said when the board met Monday, "whereas owners cannot park on their front lawn. They must park in an approved driveway or parking path."

Commissioner Larry "Doc" Oldham voiced his support of the amendment and said he wished the board could implement a similar policy for the entire historic district, which is partially in the city's jurisdiction.

Commissioner Robert Reives agreed but noted that some residents who often parked on their lawns would hesitate to comply with the amended ordinance.

"For some folks, that's a custom for them to do it that way," Reives said after the meeting. "And breaking that tradition is going to be a sensitive area."
