Defending Our Rights to Prayer!

Intuitive Commentary
by Kirk D. Smith

In this era of full disclosure I want it to be known that I hold two degrees in History – my undergraduate degree studies included German, Nazi and Soviet history. My Graduate Degree focused on American Colonial, Revolutionary History, along with the progressive course work dictated by the politically correct professorship. I spent three years patrolling the Commuinist East German Border while assigned to the 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment. My family has traveled behind the Iron Curtain, the Berlin Wall and to the Soviet Union. Also as a combat veteran of this country, I am still sworn to “uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America, against all enemies foreign and domestic.” Now I wish to exercise my GOD given First Amendment Right to free speech!

As a result of a Fourth Circuit Court Ruling, the Lee County Board of Commissioners will not longer be able to state the name of our Lord and Savior, JESUS CHRIST in the commission’s opening prayer.

I will have to hand it to you “living breathing document” advocates that make words appear in the Constitution that are not there, clearly it states as our resident North Carolina American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) lawyer Katherine Lewis-Parker insists that:

“Sectarian legislative prayer is unlawful because government speech – not private speech – is at issue.”

For those advocates of the Wall of Separation, let’s review the First Amendment to the Constitution:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religon, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceable to assemble, and to petititon the Government for a redress of grievances.

Clearly it states that there is, “a wall of separation,” that “Sectarian legislative prayer is unlawful because it is government speech – not private speech,” right there between “abortion,” and “sodomy”. Are not the human secularists wonderful word smiths?

Add to that, are the online comments the the Sanford Herald’s Editoral (Read more: Sanford Herald - OUR VIEW Board forced to address prayer )

"I have feeling Mr. Smith's post is meant to be tongue-in-cheek. You're quite a prankster, but I would like to address his little delusion about the ACLU. They are tax exempt, but get 0$ from public coffers. The communism charge is of course laughable. BTW, the ACLU has defended many Christian groups throughout their history."

Well Daniel W., I certainly hate to burst your bubble there was no tongue-in-cheek in my statements. The ACLU may be tax exempt, but it receives tax payer’s dollars under a little known provision in Federal Law involving "civil rights" suits filed by: the ACLU, and other anti-Christian secularist organizations.

Under USC TITLE 42, CHAPTER 21, SUBCHAPTER I, § 1988 "...the court, in its discretion, may allow the prevailing party a reasonable attorney’s fee as part of the costs...."

The totals raked in by the ACLU are in the millions each year. . . tax payers fall victim as the ACLU collects even after the mere threat of a law suit. The ACLU targets small school districts and low wealth governments to pressure them into settlements and in turn receive their attorney fees from the government . Memo to Daniel W.: governments get their money from taxpayers. Look out Lee County! Hold on to your wallets, Ms. Lewis-Parker was making a veiled threat in her Letter to the Editor! Some would view this as extortion.

Also, didn’t you find it peculiar that Ms. “Hyphenated ACLU” lawyer had to include the fact that they defended Christians and that Daniel W. wrote “The ACLU has defended many Christian groups throughout their history?” Perhaps Ms. “Hyphenated ACLU lawyer had a guilty conscience and decided to add that little factoid in an attempt to make the ACLU look, “fair and balanced.” Truth be told, when you tally up the thousands of lawsuits filed each year, those “many Christian groups” turn out to be a very, very small number. Jesus did say,

“. . . Woe to you lawyers also! For you load men with burdens hard to bear, and you yourselves do not touch the burdens with one of your fingers.” (Luke 11:46)

In fact the American Civil Liberties Union uses judicial terror and extortion in order to silence their opposition, (anyone who opposes their progressive, secularist and humanist theology), thus forcing people of the Christian faith into the closet.

As for my delusional communism charge toward the ACLU, The ACLU first started out as the National Civil Liberties Bureau, they began defending communist during the first “red scare” following World War I. The ACLU’s founder Mr. Baldwin also traveled to and marveled at the progress the Soviet Union was making under the mass murderer Joseph Stalin. Baldwin writing in 1934 publication Soviet Russia Today:

"I believe in non-violent methods of struggle as most effective in the long run for building up successful working class power. Where they cannot be followed or where they are not even permitted by the ruling class, obviously only violent tactics remain. I champion civil liberty as the best of the non-violent means of building the power on which workers rule must be based. If I aid the reactionaries to get free speech now and then, if I go outside the class struggle to fight against censorship, it is only because those liberties help to create a more hospitable atmosphere for working class liberties. The class struggle is the central conflict of the world; all others are incidental.

Proletarian Liberty in Practice

When that power of the working class is once achieved, as it has been only in the Soviet Union, I am for maintaining it by any means whatever. Dictatorship is the obvious means in a world of enemies at home and abroad. I dislike it in principle as dangerous to its own objects. But the Soviet Union has already created liberties far greater than exist elsewhere in the world. They are liberties that most closely affect the lives of the people — power in the trade unions, in peasant organizations, in the cultural life of nationalities, freedom of women in public and private life, and a tremendous development of education for adults and children. . . . "

I saw in the Soviet Union many opponents of the regime. I visited a dozen prisons — the political sections among them. I saw considerable of the work of the OGPU. I heard a good many stories of severity, even of brutality, and many of them from the victims. While I sympathized with personal distress I just could not bring myself to get excited over the suppression of opposition when I stacked it up against what I saw of fresh, vigorous expressions of free living by workers and peasants all over the land. And further, no champion of a socialist society could fail to see that some suppression was necessary to achieve it. It could not all be done by persuasion. . . .

[I]f American champions of civil liberty could all think in terms of economic freedom as the goal of their labors, they too would accept “workers democracy” as far superior to what the capitalist world offers to any but a small minority. Yes, and they would accept — regretfully, of course — the necessity of dictatorship while the job of reorganizing society on a socialist basis is being done."

Sounds like a communist to me, one who enjoys dictatorship in order to achieve their progressive desires. Of course some animals are more equal than others.

"The Nazis also murdered and tortured in the name of Jesus, once they go [sic] control of Germany. I suppose it's just a matter of time before we get some group like that in the US. Oh wait, we had them - the KKK.

I'm glad Mr. Womack knows what God intended. What worries me is that Adolph Hitler, Timothy McVeigh and Osama Bin Laden also seemed to know what God intended.

Funny how the world seems to generate more anti-Christ types than real Christlike figures."

Sorry bugeyed: The Nazis, (National Socialist Workers Party – simply another flavor of the progressive socialists) took over the churches, replacing Bibles with copies of Mien Kampf, the cross with the swastika, and inducing a fanatical form of Nazism into those churches that would adopt their “master race” theology. Much like our mainline protestant denominations of today, who are embracing into their Christian worship the perverted “social justice” ideology as well adopting the homosexual theology viewing it as “a normal and healthy life-style.”

The Nazis embraced the occult, creating a National Church and incorporating the state church into the Ministry of Cults. Hitler persecuted Christians who saw Nazism for what it was: placing man above GOD, purely secular, hedonistic and EVIL. Timothy McVeigh and Osama Bin Laden used their evil perversion to commit mass murder . . . not GOD.

Hitler and his fanatics were wedded to the “cult of personality” much the same as any of the 20th century tyrants (Lenin, Stalin, Mao Tse Tung, Ho Chi Minh, Kim Ill Jung, Fidel Castro, Hugo Chavez, Che Guevera, Osam Bin Laden, and even Barak Obama) thus purging from the public our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Sound familiar?

One should find it amusing that “bugeyed” by mentioning the KKK was inferring our membership in that racist rabble. Bugeyed, did you know that the Supreme Court Justice Hugo Black (who in 1947 “revived a previously obscure metaphor from Jefferson’s writings,” and wrote into the decision “thus building a wall of separation between Church & State”) was a member of the KKK? Black a U.S. Senator and a former Ku Klux Klan member from Alabama received his appointment to the Supreme Court Justice, by the progressive Franklin D. Roosevelt.

The favorite target of the ACLU is the public display of the Ten Commandments. James Madison wrote:

“We have staked the whole future of American Civilization, not upon the power of government, far from it. We have staked the future of all our political institutions upon the capacity of mankind for self government; upon the capacity of each and all of us to govern ourselves, to control ourselves, to sustain ourselves according to the Ten Commandments of God.”

The statists dominating the progressive Democrat Neo-Socialist Party of these United States abhors self-government and the ability of us as individuals to control our own selves. They detest protecting Life, Liberty and Property rights. Their theology demands total control of the masses (enslavement) and the redistribution of wealth (government sponsored theft).

Fighting the ACLU is to ensure our future and freedom as a nation founded on Christian Principles. No other nation in the world has achieved so much in such a short period of time. We can thank GOD and his son, our LORD and Savior, JESUS CHRIST for his many blessings bestowed on this Nation. Keep Praying!

As always, I shall remain, In Search of our GOD Given Liberties!

I especially like the history of the ACLU you provided in your blog. I really didn't know much about its founder. Enlightening stuff.

Nancy,

Unfortunately, our Public Educational Collectives and our Institutions of Higher Indoctrination won't teach true history. U.S. History is politically correct and highly dictated by the Department of Public Instruction "Standard Course of Study."

Surely you would not expect them to teach the history of the subversive activities of today's Progressives?
