Kirk's Rebuttal to Neil Rotter!

Editor's Note:  Just because our local paper fails to print Conservative rebuttals, doesn't mean the "Fresh Brew" won't.  Kirk's letter below is in response to this from a local lib, Neil Rotter.

Neil Rotter's Sophistry!

We are so fortunate to have an eclectic dissertation on the sophistry of America’s Un-Christian Heritage as put forth by Neil Rotter in his August 30, 2011 Letter to the Editor of the Sanford Herald! Clearly his attendance at one of our “public educational collectives” or possibly an “institution of higher indoctrination” reveals the intellectual vacuousness of his argument. Perhaps Neil is a graduate of the Atlanta school system?

Mr. Rotter could you please answer the following: First, many of us would like you to define “today’s right-wing fundamentalist world?” Neil, how can you state the Founders were “. . . for the most part deists,” when Samuel Adams wrote in his Will “. . . relying on the merits of Jesus Christ for the pardons of my sins.”

How can you state such about George Washington when his Christian faith is so well documented in Peter Lillback’s George Washington’s Sacred Fire? How does Neil explain James Madison’s copious notes in his personal Bible and his statement that “Religion [is] the basis and Foundation of Government?”

Perhaps Mr. Rotter could explain Thomas Jefferson’s letter on March 23, 1801 to Moses Robinson, writing, “The Christian Religion . . . is a religion of all others most friendly to liberty, science, and the freest expansion of the human mind”?

How could John Adams be a deist when he writes to Thomas Jefferson on November 4, 1816, “The Ten Commandments and the Sermon on the Mount contain my religion . . .?”

Does Neil know who gave the Sermon on the Mount?

As for the religious test, Mr. Rotter I recall the brouhaha when Justice Samuel Alito, Jr. was appointed to the Supreme Court. Why did the leftist media and progressive Senators constantly question his “Catholic” faith leading up to his confirmation?

How is it that the left finds the most obscure lines from documents such as the Treaty of Tripoli or Jefferson’s Letter to the Danbury Baptist Convention to rewrite our country’s Christian foundation? Yet at the same time they ignore the volumes of documents that establish our country’s Christian foundation. How can anyone ignore the simple words, “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof” or could Mr. Rotter explain the closing paragraph or the Constitution, “Done in Convention by Unanimous Consent of the States present the Seventeenth Day of September in the Year of our Lord [emphasis added] one thousand seven hundred and Eighty seven . . .?” Could Mr. Rotter show us where to find that “wall of separation?” How can the Lee County Commission or for that matter, the State of North Carolina, be equal to Congress?

In the meantime, while the American Civil Liberties Union continues their suit against local government prayer, they are also engaged in a suit against public schools demanding they remove the internet filters that protect children from homosexual websites as well pornography associated with these gay sites. Of course the Executive Director of the ACLU Anthony Romero is openly gay. Could that have something to do with it?

Pray to GOD that the mercy of his SON Jesus Christ will lead us out of this desert of depravity. As always, I shall remain . . . In Search of Our GOD Given Liberties!

It would be good if this appeared in the paper. Many people would benefit from reading it.

Local founding patriot Phillip Alston was an atheist was he not? I believe that is why he was dismissed from the State Senate (I mean besides the fact he was a murderous bushwhacker who used slaves to kill his political enemies). However I have no problem with anyone praying before a meeting. I would not even have a problem with "Poly" Cohen doing a Jewish prayer. As long as no governmental body forces anyone to participate. The Lee County Democratic Party starts most meetings with a prayer. As for the ACLU they are the same ones that help the Westboro Baptist Church ruin soldier's funerals in the name of Jesus Christ as well as allow Nazi's to march in Jewish neighborhoods in America. The ACLU pretty much finds the the worst scoundrels on left or right and pays their legal bill.

Randall,

Welcome back. We've missed you. Seriously!

Ughhh the Westboro church has another thing coming. They are not doing God's work. It's disgusting how they use Jesus' name. Disgusting.

Dear Randall,

Just for your information, the NAZIs are not on the RIGHT. Nazi was short for National Socialist Workers Party! Did you notice all of the progressive words in their title?

As always, I shall remain, In Search of Our GOD Given Liberties!

Mr Smith,

The leftists revolutionary members of the Nazi Party were expelled and murdered during the night of the long knives. While the Nazi Party adopted aspects of both left and right it's general opposition to actually socialist and communist parties and it's blaming of the November Revolution for losing the Great War have most serious historians place it on the political right. It is true that the Bavarian Machine Gun King, Ernst Rohm, had a serious hatred of what he saw as the middle class. This hatred of course stemmed form blaming the Prussian Junkers class for losing the war. The majority of the Prussian Junkers were not landed gentry, but served heavily in the civil service and military. After Rohm's death Hitler and the Nazi Party went hard right.

Of course the Nazis I referred too, are the American Nazi Party which is a far right hate group (and no not all hate groups are right wing). They are currently trying to pass themselves off as being similar to the constitutional founding fathers.

Randall,

Who exactly are you referring to when you say American Nazis? Tea Party? I am going to assume you are since you didn't clarify.

Are you foolish enough to believe those of us who want limited government ( note I did not say NO GOVERNMENT), and those of us who truly wished the Constitution was followed as the law of the land and not someone who wears a robe, are Nazis?

Nazis murdered people because of their ehnic background. Not one tea party PATRIOT has done that nor would we tolerate it.

Unlike the left who frequently promote and defend violence - as in Black Panthers- Tea Partiers throw out the thugs.

Besides what in the world is the left so afraid of? because they are afraid. Oh yes. They are afraid. Or else they would completely ignore us TAXED ENOUGH ALREADY citizens.

And another thing. Stop blaming the right. The left had both chambers of Congress for four years. You had the House, Senate, and WH for two. And you had control of NC for 118 years. None of that would have changed hands if the Dems were doing what was right for America..

Frankly, the left made us madder than hell and we are fighting back. We are sick of unions (the Prez has some nice chums, doesn't he?). Note Wisconsin and other areas all over this country are starting to be in the black finally after putting some controls on them. Direct your anger to them as well. Unions, like Government, were not created to encroach in every aspect of our lives. The now make elections and are very good at causing unemployment.

Boggles my mind how President Obama can be in NC touting amother Jobs plan while his Labor buddies make it so Boeing can't open a plant in SC!

Talk about hypocrisy!!

More and more Americans are throwing their hands up at the vile attacks directed to them. Our own President and VP have forgotten they took an oath to protect America. All of it. They go around calling American citizens barbaric!

Calling us Nazis is wrong. And there isn't a bit of evidence. But on the other hand, would you like for us to call the left Baby killers? The government keeps statistics on that! Now which one is really doing something vile and immoral?

I sure hope you were not referring to the Tea party.

You are so much better than that!

Mrs Barber,

I WAS NOT CALLING THE TEA PARTY NAZIS!!! Now that I screamed that out. I was referring to the actual American Nazi Party. It's a real (or surreal) political party that is on the ballots in some states. It was founded in the late 50's or early 60's by a crazy man called George Lincoln Rockwell. Rockwell ran for Governor of Virginia while wearing an SA Brown Shirt uniform and a Swastika armband. Believe it or not he got like 2% of the vote. An off shoot of his organization formed his own group and wanted to march in full Nazi uniforms through Skokie Illinois, which is a heavily Jewish suburb of Chicago. The town said hell no, and the ACLU took the case all the way to the Supreme Court. Which ruled they could march. Lately the American Nazi Party has been spotlighting the racism of certain founding fathers and putting forward the claim that the Constitution only applies to pure blooded (whatever that means) whites. They are basically trying to tie themselves to the Tea Party movement for the positive press it gives them. I would hope you would shun someone who showed up wearing a Nazi uniform to a Tea Party rally! Google "George Lincoln Rockwell" or "National Socialist Party of America v. Village of Skokie" to go see what I'm talking about. Then come back and apologize to me for saying I called the Tea Party Nazis. For the record I did clarify when I said American Nazi Party since that is their real name. Have a good morning and Constitution Day Mrs Barber.

Glad you clarified that Randall.

I had a wonderful Constitution Day with my grandson. After all it's for his sake I'm fighting the left as much as I can.

We need to preserve individual liberty.

Without it, America dies.
