"LEED" Us Down Memory Lane...

Aw Shucks..boys and girls just want to have fun, right?

Well those LEED Brat Pac boys and girls want to have fun with your money.  And with our police force too!

Here's another trip down memory lane.  Grab some hot brew and read how the City clerk used your police force to deliver packets from the Brat PAC.  Matter of fact, there's a letter in here from one of the boys who wants to be your mayor!

City Council Puts LEED Pac Ahead Of Crime Fighting...

Good day, friends. Hope your Thursday is going well.  Get some brew and sit a spell.  You can find out right now, right here just how much LEED PAC has influence over Sanford City Council members.  Yep...they do!

Remember when I brought up the LEED Pac's desired involvement in being a player in the negotiations between Sanford, Broadway, and those "hated"  Republican Lee Co Commissioners?  Take a trip down memory lane...Review the previous post:

LEED Brat Pac is Snooping Again...

But if you don't have time, here's the letter Chet Mann sent to the City Clerk:

Subject: Public request for InterLocal Meeting tonight
Dear Bonnie,
Hello and greetings.  Would you please see the attached letter originally designed as a public comment and forward it to the City Council members in regards to their joint meeting with the County tonight.  This letter addresses our desire to see positive cooperation and healthy negotiations to the benefit of all tax payers both City and County as it pertains to Inter Local Agreements.

If you would  forward the attached letter we are prepared to hand delivery a hard copy of the original Government Study Document  from 1989 to you this afternoon for the Council’s review.  There will be  a packet for each Council Member with a copy of the letter enclosed. Unfortunately, the document itself is too large to email.  If any Councilmen so desires we would be happy to be recognized by him or her and speak to the contents of the study and the public desire to see the agreements continue.  We were under the impression that public comments would be allowed but have since learned that the agenda did not allow for any public comments.
If any questions please feel free to call.  Thank you so much for your help at this late notice.
Sincerely,

Chet Mann

In late January, I sent a Freedom of Information Act request to the City Manager asking for all the emails distributed to and from the LEED PAC boys and girls to the city council, manager, etc.   Those boys and girls do think they are something, don't they??  Editor update:  FOIA was concerning the sales tax distribution, etc, discussions.

Well some of our city council members do too!  Old Sam Gaskins has my email blocked.  Here you try emailing him at his official city council email address:spgaskins@aol.com Let me know if you get a reply.  If you do, then darn it, why is my representative discriminating against me?  Trust me, I'll ask the question.  Since when do politicians get to choose who they represent?  That's exactly what old Sam is doing with me.

But anyway, while perusing through the documentation I found out how the city council members, not the BOC members, received their packets Mr. Mann mentioned in his email above before the joint meeting.

The City Clerk, Ms. White, sent an email stating she was going to get the packets into the city council's hands via the Sanford Police force.  Say what?  Here you go:

A police officer will be delivering a packet to you this afternoon that LEED has requested you receive for tonight's meeting.    Please let me know if you do not receive your packet by 5 PM.

I was unaware that our city personnel had such clout.  Could these council members not wait until evening?  Does LEED PAC have that much influence?  I would say so.  So who is running our city?  No wonder the council is bitter towards the Republicans on the Board of Commissioners.  LEADership on the city council has turned intoLEEDership!   They seem to wait with baited breath at Mr. Mann's next move.  (FOIAs are beautiful!)

By the way, if memory serves me correctly, Mr. Williams was very inquisitive of the Sanford Police Chief at a city council meeting in December.  He said he was concerned.  Crime was rising in the city.  Women are taking alternate routes to avoid bullets.  And Mr. Williams wanted to know what could the chief do?  Oh my...

Police Chief Yarborough addresses recent violence

Dec. 20, 2012 @ 05:00 AM  Anna Johnson
Police Chief Ronnie Yarborough made an unscheduled appearance before Sanford City Council Tuesday, answering questions about the recent gun violence throughout town.
Since early November, two murders have been reported, along with nearly a dozen other shooting incidents. Councilman James Williams asked Yarborough at the council's meeting Tuesday to speak about what the city and residents can do to curtail the violence.

Well, Mr. Williams..The chief could do a heck of alot more if you would understand this simple fact:  You and the rest of the city council members are not special.  You put your clothes on just like everybody else.  And every one of you including the city clerk, city manager, mayor and anyone else who approved using  our crime fighting force to deliver packets from the LEED PAC should apologize to the tax payers.  Matter of fact, you should reimburse the police department for the time the officer(s) used to deliver LEED's wish list.

How dare you, Mr. Williams and the rest of your cohorts,  put LEED Brat Pac boys and girls wishes ahead of our safety!  How dare you!!
